There are a lot of opinions about the new President of the United States, Donald Trump. That said, today's article would like to narrowly focus on the question of trade labor and jobs. Will the Trump Administration have a positive impact on trade labor and construction jobs? While it is very early in his presidency, many investors believe Donald Trump will improve the U.S. Economy. As a result, the U.S. Stock Markets have reached new record highs, on an almost daily basis.
At the end of January, union leaders met with Donald Trump , with construction as the main topic. After the meeting, Sean McGarvey, president of North America’s Building Trades Unions, stated, "That the American citizenry and the American Treasury will be invested in building public infrastructure." This investment will mean many trade labor and construction jobs.
The meeting, taking place in the White House, included many labor leaders, plus high-ranking members of the Trump Administration. Overall, building trade leaders have reported satisfaction with the meeting, noting they were never given such an opportunity under former President Obama. Moreover, each of the groups represented supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential Election. Regardless, McGarvey stated in an interview, "We have a common bond with the President. We come from the same industry. He understands the value of driving development, moving people to the middle class."
As reported in Bloomberg , President Trump also understands the need for vocational training for the noble trades. Today, there are jobs that companies just can't fill. So, while there is much that some will find disagreement with, regarding Trump's policies, when if comes to trade labor and construction, the outlook is positive.
