Attention Contractors/Renovators and Painters

Don't Be in Violation!

In April 2010, this certification will become MANDATORY for anyone who could potentially expose children to lead dust. This course covers all the EPA requirements under the Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (LRRP) to enable a firm to apply for EPA Renovation Firm Certification or to certify an individual as a Certified Lead Renovator". Trained contractors and workers must follow lead- safe work practice standards to reduce potential exposure to lead during renovation and repair activities in target housing or child-occupied facilities. All firms and individuals must be certified before April 22, 2010.

Under the rule, child-occupied facilities are defined as residential, public or commercial buildings where children under age six are present on a regular basis. The requirements apply to renovation, repair or painting activities.
